Boredom Busters

So congrats to the people who won the copy of book two, On the Loose. Those five lucky people are Lori, Cindy, Tigger, Pam, and Grace (who’s won TWICE on here–she’s on a roll!). And a bonus winner, Sarah from Canada because her email made me laugh. So expect your books in a few weeks, gals.

Today is a public service announcement for all those who have mastered the art of looking busy at their desk, but are actually doing online Scrabble. I would like to offer you some other choices. Besides…Scrabble is too intellectual.

Have you taken the quiz to determine what dog breed you are? If not, you need to check it out HERE. I’m a bulldog. That name really doesn’t please me, but the description is not bad. (Except it implies that I’m lazy. Which I’m not. I can put down a box of Twinkies with much energy, thank you very much.) It also tells you what famous people are also that breed and suggests some other jobs for your type, in case you are in need of career counseling. Here’s what it said for me:

FAMOUS BULLDOGS: Ellen DeGeneres, Whoopi Goldberg, Jack Black, George W. Bush

LIKELY PROFESSIONS: Comedian, Firefighter, Racecar Driver, Bartender

I would make an awful bartender. I stink at small talk, and I could never keep all those drink recipes straight. But interesting that Jack Black and George Dubya are lumped together. But come to think about it, I’d vote for Jack Black for president any day.

If you’re like me and times are stressful and you’re overworked, THIS is a fun one to pull up on the screen in place of a spreadsheet or boring old Word doc. I love what it says when you hit refresh.

This YouTube clip CRACKS me up. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE jump number two.

And this cat apparently doesn’t know that he’s supposed to be magically coordinated.

And this cat?

He says, “I need a latte and some French fries.” That’s what I got from it.

Okay, so this week I’m giving away an ADVANCED COPY of The Big PIcture. Of course by the time I actually get to the post office during THEIR working hours (Which are like 11 am to 11:01. I live in a retirement community. UGHHH), it will probably be a few weeks and it will be on the shelves. But if you’re game, please leave me a sweet little comment on the blog AND email your mailing addy to jen at jennybjones.com. I’ll pick two winners. And this will save you from camping out at midnight on the eve of the book release. It’s so much trouble.

Have a good week!

Jen

You are my hero now. For like… three hours..I’ve just been staring at the screen thinking “what to do” — now I have something to do, hah. Now, I know I am a Labrador Retriever. Woot! My day is complete, hehe.

    Yaaay! Thanks, Jenny!!
For the procrastination tips as well. Although apparently, since I’m a “German Shepherd,” a perfectionist, you are bringing me down in exposing me like this.
Really, being such a public figure and everything, do you think it’s socially responsible to encourage procrastination? If the world has seen the last of Teddy Roosevelt, Queen Elizabeth, Humphrey Bogart and Oprah (my fellow German Sheperds), it is on you…
    Just think, no more Oprahs…
    Tsk.

    Thanks Jen!

That bubble wrap is awesome. I even started popping designs in the bubbles. Totally addictive.

Haven’t taken the dog-personality test yet, but it’s next on my list…

    Blessings!

I can’t wait to try out that dog quiz!!! That’s so funny. :) And please, please, please, with puppies on top, enter me into ur contest!! I love your books oh so much! You’re just so funny –don’t see that every day in fiction. Seems it’s all romance and drama –and let me tell ya, I’ve got enough drama in my life already, LOL.

Another contest?! YAY!!! I bought In Between three long, long weeks ago and put it in my sister’s care so I wouldn’t read it. (I was saving it for a trip, which I am starting today, thank goodness.)

Um…but the whole safeguarding thing didn’t work. I know where she hides books. Under her bed. Seriously, there is a small library beneath that pink dustcover. So I’ve um, skimmed In Between. Heavily skimmed. Read several chapters in total.

Yes, I am now addicted. Please enter me in the contest. This time I won’t bother giving it to my sister. I’ll just sit down and devour it.

It said I’m a POODLE. Now, you know, I am NOT a poodle. It’s all because I said pink mini-cooper, and that was only because they didn’t have a 1949 Hudson!

Me, me, me! I want to be entered in the contest too. Remember me?? I’m the devoted stalker?? Remember me?? I think that should worth something. *hint, hint* ;)

Oh! Oh! I was the Golden Retriever! And guess what one of the likely professions was?? A journalist! :) Awesome!

I LOVE the pets!! my mom got me interested in your books, and the first time I read In Between I couldn’t put it down!!! i can’t wait for The Big Picture to come out. I’ve already read On the Loose and I’ve gotten my Youth Pastor’s wife completely hooked on the books. I let her borrow my copy while Kevin (her husband) was on a missions trip in Ireland. Have you ever heard of Reggie Dabbs? He is so kewl!!! I figure you might have because he is a motovational speaker that comes around almost every school in the nation and seeing as how your a teacher I thought you might have. (especially since he makes a lot of teachers do a say no to drugs rap(it is SO FUNNY!!!)) n e ways I absolutely LOVE your books and can’t wait to get The Big Picture!!!!!!!!
